Moon Cloud Pendant

A glimpse of a cloud-obscured moon and a quick photo later, and it was gone. The camera had captured a fleeting moment and this served as inspiration for the Moon Cloud collection. As perhaps many artists aspire to do, it is my attempt to make permanent an erstwhile moment of transience.

The flowing forms of this piece capture the ethereal and delicate qualities of the cloud, as it passes over the moon. The application of a patina to the piece lends a mysterious air, while the dimpled texture corresponds to the surface texture of the moon. And in keeping with the moon as a symbol of the feminine, I have paired this piece with a rainbow moonstone, a gem associated with femininity and sometimes named as the ‘Mother Earth’ stone.

This piece has been hallmarked and assayed at the Dublin Assay Office to guarantee the quality of the precious metal used.
