ABOUT ISEULT

Iseult Raftery Jewellery Maker

Iseult Raftery, the name behind iseult designs, is an Irish jewellery artist, currently based in Dublin, Ireland.

Iseult has had an interest in craft from a very young age and this interest has led her to study various craft disciplines over the years, including glasswork, printmaking and textiles.

But a jewellery class that she attended in France, where she learned to work with metals and stones, lit a passion for designing and making unique pieces of jewellery. This led her eventually to leave her permanent job in the Civil Service and apply to attend a full-time course in traditional gold-smithing and jewellery techniques. After graduating in 2018, she set up a home-based studio and from there, works on her own designs and to commission.

She uses nature as a stepping stone to create her organic forms. In these, she seeks to replicate the recurrent shapes, patterns and textures found in the natural world.

The material she uses most often in her pieces is sterling silver. She also loves to incorporate differently shaped, coloured and textured semi-precious stones as well as fused glass into her jewellery. These lend interest and depth to each piece.
