Fused glass pendant in a sterling silver setting on a sterling silver chain.
This pendant is made of glass pieces carefully arranged into a pattern and then fused at high temperature in a kiln. The resultant fused glass round cabochon has been set in a sterling silver frame.
The design is what one might imagine an apocalyptic sunset to be! The beauty of working in this medium is that, in spite of a design in mind, you never really know what the result will be. Pre-fused glass proves to be very different from the fused piece. In this case, the result was a pleasant surprise!
