Shell Pendant

Patinated sterling silver pendant with rainbow moonstone, on a sterling silver chain

This pendant, in sterling silver, was cast from a beautifully broken shell I found on a Californian beach. The shell’s flowing form seemed to lend itself so naturally to a piece of jewellery that I decided to get it cast in silver. When experimenting with finishes for the piece, I thought the patinated finish best suited the natural textures and grooves on its surface. The moonstone at the centre contrasts with the darkness of the piece and greatly enhances it.

This pendant has been hallmarked and assayed at the Dublin Assay Office to guarantee the quality of the precious metal used.
